Ingredients

Filling

  • 1.5 cups chunky or creamy peanut butter This is the star of the show, providing a nutty flavor and smooth texture.
  • 0.5 cups softened butter Adds richness and helps bind the mixture.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar Balances the savory peanut butter.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Elevates the flavors with a warm, aromatic scent.

Coating

  • 12 oz bag of chocolate chips Use semi-sweet chocolate chips for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons paraffin wax or candy melts Optional for a glossy finish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • Form the mixture into small balls, about an inch in diameter, using your hands or a cookie scoop.
  • Place the balls onto a rimmed sheet pan lined with wax or parchment paper, allowing space in between.

Coating

  • Melt the chocolate chips and paraffin wax together using a double boiler or microwave, heating in intervals until smooth.
  • Dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring full coverage, and let excess chocolate drip off.
  • Return them to the prepared pan and consider adding colored sugar or drizzling melted white chocolate for decoration.

Setting

  • Freeze the sheet pan for about 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.

Notes

Ensure butter is softened for easy mixing. Use a cookie scoop for uniform sizes and don't let chocolate cool too much while dipping.
