  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon Harmonizes with sugar.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances flavors.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Sweetens egg mixture.
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter For cooking.

For the Churro Coating

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar For coating.
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon Adds flavor to the coating.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, salt, and granulated sugar until smooth and fragrant.
  • In another bowl, mix granulated sugar with ground cinnamon for the coating.

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add butter.
  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture for 10 seconds on each side, then place into the skillet.
  • Cook until golden brown, approximately 3-4 minutes per side, adding butter as needed.
  • Remove from skillet and immediately coat each side in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining slices of bread.

Serving

  • Serve warm, optionally drizzled with caramel or chocolate sauce, or alongside ice cream.

Notes

For the best results, use day-old bread for better soaking. Adjust the skillet temperature to avoid burning.
