Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat 1 cup of milk in the microwave in 15-30 second intervals until it reaches 100-110°F.
  • Pour the warm milk into a bowl, sprinkle the active dry yeast over the milk and allow it to bloom for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla to the milk-yeast mixture and mix until combined.
  • Gradually add the bread flour and salt, mixing on low speed until the dough comes together, then knead for 5-7 minutes.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

Filling and Shaping

  • Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and melt the butter for the filling.
  • When the dough has doubled, punch it down and roll it into a rectangle, spread the melted butter, and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Roll the dough tightly from the long edge and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  • Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for an additional 30-45 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Allow the rolls to cool for 5-10 minutes before frosting.

Frosting

  • Beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth, add vanilla and milk, then mix in the powdered sugar.
  • Spread the frosting generously over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

Ensure your yeast is fresh for the best rise. Measure flour correctly to avoid dense rolls. Let the dough rest in a warm place for optimal fluffiness.
