Instructions
 

Cooking the Eggs

  • Place the eggs in a large saucepan and cover them with cold water.
  • Set the pan over medium-high heat and bring the water to a gentle boil.
  • Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover the pan with a lid, and let the eggs sit for 12 minutes.

Cooling and Peeling

  • Drain the eggs and rinse them under cold water to cool them down.
  • Peel the eggs and prepare for coloring.

Coloring the Egg Whites

  • In separate cups, stir food coloring into cups filled with 6 ounces of water and add 1 teaspoon of vinegar to each cup.
  • Cut the eggs in half lengthwise and gently remove the yolks into a bowl.
  • Place the empty egg white halves into your cups of colored water and let them soak for at least 10 minutes.

Preparing the Filling

  • To the mashed yolks, add mayonnaise, pickle juice, and mustard and mash until smooth.
  • Add the chopped dill pickles and season with salt and pepper.

Assembling the Deviled Eggs

  • Remove the egg whites from the dye and pat them dry.
  • Transfer the yolk mixture into a piping bag and pipe the filling back into the colored egg white halves.
  • Arrange the Colored Deviled Eggs on a serving platter and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

For best results, tips include using slightly older eggs for easier peeling and ensuring not to over-soak the egg whites in dye.
