Dough and Sealing

  • 1 batch pizza dough Use store-bought or homemade.
  • water Water for sealing Small amount to ensure filling is contained.

Filling

  • 1 cup pizza sauce or ketchup Choose your favorite sauce.
  • to taste pinch chili flakes For a spicy kick.
  • to taste pinch oregano Essential pizza flavor.
  • 1 cup bell peppers, finely chopped Adds crunch and color.
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, cubed For a gooey texture.

Frying

  • oil Oil for deep frying Ensure sufficient amount for frying.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Mix the pizza sauce or ketchup with chili flakes and oregano in a bowl.
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a long rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Slice the rolled dough into small squares of approximately 3x3 inches.
  • Spread a small spoonful of the sauce mixture on each square, adding bell peppers and a cube of mozzarella in the center.
  • Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of each dough square, then pinch the corners together to seal the filling.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan to about 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Carefully drop the pizza bites into the hot oil, frying in batches for about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove the fried pizza bites with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serving

  • Serve warm with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

Ensure oil is hot enough before frying to avoid soggy results. Do not overcrowd the frying pan. Let pizza bites cool slightly before serving.
