  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons) The magical ingredient that brings your bread to life.
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt Enhancing the flavors and balancing sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar For a hint of sweetness that complements the herbs.
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F to 115°F) Activating the yeast and creating the perfect dough.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Adding richness and moisture to the bread.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary Aromatic and earthy, it infuses every bite.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme Adding a lovely layer of flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano Giving the bread a Mediterranean twist.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For an irresistible savory depth.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Enhancing the overall flavor profile.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Combine the warm water and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle the active dry yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Once the yeast is bubbly and alive, add olive oil, salt, and all-purpose flour to the bowl. Gradually incorporate the flour until a slightly sticky dough begins to form.
  • Introduce the chopped fresh herbs, garlic powder, and onion powder to the mix. Gently combine until well mixed.
  • Grease the crokpot with olive oil or cooking spray and place the dough into the greased crockpot. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm spot for about 2 hours.
  • After the dough has risen, punch it down gently and shape it into a round loaf. Place it back in the crockpot and cover to rise for an additional hour.
  • Set the crockpot to low and let it cook for about 4 hours. Check for doneness; the bread should sound hollow when tapped.
  • If necessary, let it cook for an additional 30 minutes. Once done, carefully remove it from the crockpot and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
