Ingredients
  

For the sushi rice

  • 1 cup sushi rice Tender and sticky rice that serves as the base.
  • 1.5 cups water Essential for cooking sushi rice.
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar Adds a tangy depth to the rice.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Balances the acidity of the vinegar.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Elevates flavors.

For the topping

  • 8 ounces fresh salmon, sashimi-grade The star of the dish, tender and buttery.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Brings rich umami flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Adds a nutty aroma.
  • 1 tablespoon honey Natural sweetener for the salmon.
  • 1 avocado ripe avocado For garnish, creamy and luscious.
  • 1 cucumber cucumber Crisp and refreshing.
  • 1 carrot carrot Adds sweetness and color.
  • 1/4 cup edamame Nutritious and protein-packed.
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions Provides a bright onion flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds For garnish and texture.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash 1 cup of sushi rice at least three times until the water runs clear.
  • Combine the washed rice with 1 1/2 cups of water in a rice cooker.
  • In a small saucepan, mix 1/4 cup rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon salt over low heat until dissolved.
  • Cut 8 ounces of fresh salmon into bite-sized cubes.
  • In a bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon honey. Add the salmon cubes and let marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  • Slice 1 avocado, 1 cucumber, and 1 carrot into thin strips.
  • Steam 1/4 cup edamame according to package instructions.

Assembly

  • Once the sushi rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and gently stir in the rice vinegar mixture.
  • Place a generous serving of sushi rice in a bowl.
  • Artfully arrange the marinated salmon, sliced avocado, cucumber, carrot, and edamame on top of the rice.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, select high-quality, sashimi-grade salmon. Customize your bowl with other vegetables or proteins as desired.
