Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the mixture, mixing well to combine.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the mixture, mixing just until incorporated.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough, rolling them into balls, and place them on the prepared baking sheets.

Baking

Frosting
