Salad Base

  • 4 cups green cabbage, finely shredded Tender and aromatic, forming the base of your salad.

Dressing

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt Creamy alternative to sour cream.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Lending smooth texture.
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar Adds a zingy brightness.
  • 1 tablespoon honey Natural sweetness to enhance the dressing.
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard A touch of spice.
  • Salt and pepper to taste To enhance overall flavors.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Finely shred the green and red cabbage and set aside in a large mixing bowl.
  • Grate the large carrot and add it to the mixing bowl with the cabbages.
  • Core the apple and cut it into thin julienne slices, then fold the apple slices into the cabbage and carrot mixture.
  • If using, chop the walnuts or pecans and add them to the bowl, along with the dried cranberries.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, and Dijon mustard until smooth and creamy.
  • Pour the dressing over the cabbage and apple mixture and mix well until all components are evenly coated.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting the flavors according to your preference.
  • Cover and refrigerate the coleslaw for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Before serving, give the coleslaw a good stir and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Notes

For a creamier texture, adjust the ratio of Greek yogurt to mayonnaise. Letting the coleslaw chill for at least 30 minutes enhances flavor.
