Ingredients

For the Tacos

  • 6 small flour tortillas soft and flexible
  • 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined juicy and tender
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil adds depth to the shrimp
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to enhance flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper adds subtle warmth
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder for a smoky kick
  • 1 teaspoon cumin for warm earthy flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder for aroma
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper for heat
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage for crunch
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes for juiciness
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro for freshness
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt for creaminess
  • 1 lime cut into wedges for squeezing over tacos

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  • Toss the cleaned shrimp in the spice mixture until evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Drizzle olive oil in the skillet, then add the shrimp, cooking for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  • Warm the tortillas in the skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
  • Fill each tortilla with shrimp, shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, and cilantro.
  • Top with Greek yogurt and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
  • Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

Use fresh shrimp for best results. Don’t overcook shrimp; they should turn pink and opaque. Warm tortillas for better texture.
