Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with 4 tablespoons of freshly grated parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of garlic powder. Mix until smooth.
  • Spread the butter mixture evenly onto the outside of each slice of bread.

Assemble Your Sandwich

  • Take one slice of buttered bread and layer half of the cheese.
  • Add a portion of the deli meats and top with another layer of cheese.
  • Finish with a second slice of bread, buttered side facing up.

Toast Your Sandwich

  • Preheat a nonstick skillet over low heat.
  • Gently place the sandwich on the skillet. Toast it slowly, flipping once after 5-7 minutes, until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.

Make the Dressing

  • In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, red grape juice vinegar, remaining garlic powder, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Toss in Fresh Veggies

  • Add shredded lettuce, sliced red onions, and chopped banana peppers to the dressing, and toss until coated.

Serve Your Sandwich

  • Once toasted, open the sandwich and spoon in the salad mix.
  • Close the sandwich, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use a heavy skillet or panini press. Let butter come to room temperature for easy spreading. Don't rush; low heat allows the cheese to melt without burning the bread. Customize your cheese blend for enhanced flavor.
